Preflight

It's an odd numbered year and you know what THAT means?! That's right! It means that me and Eileen are taking a trip. The last few have been with Grace and Sarina and Sonja, but this time we're going old school--just me and Eileen, like in the old days.


Usually we've travelled to Europe. This year, for many reasons, a Euro trip was not possible. I was petulant and insisted to Eileen that I HAD to use my passport. And my good friend that she is, she delivered. We are going to Canada. Canada! Canada. As Eileen sez, "It IS a foreign country!"


This trip also strays from the norm in that there is no aggressive sight-seeing schedule to rigidly maintain, thank goodness! We'll be in Quebec/Montreal. We'll see the Montreal Jazz Festival and we'll attend the Wendake International Powwow. I had to fight hard for that one! And not much more. The weather will be in the 70's, the food will be good, and we don't have to worry about swearing in front of the children. At least I won't have to worry. This trip should be relaxing and laid back and fun...in an oldish person kind of way.
